Great writeup, thanks for sharing. As for the conclusion, Nixon better than Jackson? I would like to read your rationale behind that one. :)

Nobody is better than Jackson?

Andrew Jackson? Trail of Tears Jackson? That Jackson? I find this hard to believe.

Re: Nobody is better than Jackson?

from what I remember from US history all those years ago (I was taught by a straight up Jacksonian, mind you), Andrew Jackson saw a nation of warhawks that was about to pretty much commit genocide and did the best he could to preserve an indigenous culture. also, his adopted son was a native american. it could have been far worse than the trail of tears.

Re: Nobody is better than Jackson?

It's pretty well known that Jackson was the Chuck Norris of presidents. I live only a couple miles away from his birthhome so I am familiar with his history.

Check this Youtube link if you want to watch a documentary about him

Re: Nobody is better than Jackson?

Andrew Jackson faught a duel over his wife's honor in which he let the other guy shoot first. This alone qualifies him as the greatest warrior spirit that has ever graced us as the leader of the United States.

Re: Nobody is better than Jackson?

true. the media tried to defame Jackson every chance they got--especially by accusing him of intentional bigamy. also, the corrupt bargain was fucked and set an awful precedent. you've piqued my interest in Jackson. what book(s) do you recommend?
