It's renewable; the question is whether it's the population-limiting resource right now (or in the near future).

I'm intrigued, too, although reading up on Ogallala I am dubious of what Pickens is doing. His researchers are probably better informed than me though.

Worrisome news to hear when you actually live over it, but knowing how they're overusing it I couldn't disagree with you.

But I have a question: While the Fertile Crescent was arguably the birthplace of modern civilization, did the Native Americans do anything nearly as notable, pass through "ages" like you described, in the Americas?
